Our beginnings date back over 90 years.
The Kettle Valley Golf Club first opened in 1927 and was the creation of many enthusiastic pioneer golfers of the time.
original muntin and mullion windows
The course was built in the scenic valley of the Kettle River amidst rolling hills and pine forests. Back then it was like most golf courses of the era and had sand greens.
The clubhouse still retains some of its historical charm like the original grid windows. Hidden within the walls are the remains of the great wooden flume waterway that once spanned from Rock Creek and through the golf course grounds.
While the sand greens have long since upgraded to turf, and the clubhouse has expanded, the same enthusiasm for our course exists today as it did for the KVGC pioneers.

Clubhouse origins
Kettle Valley spans from west of Greenwood to west of Rock Creek. The area was likely named after the Kettle River but the "Kettle" origins remain a mystery. The word may reflect the shape of rock formations or indigenous baskets.
The term would be forever popularized with the opening of the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) in 1915. The KVR served the Kettle Valley, with its “Mile 0” station in Midway and a robust general store north of the historic school house just outside Rock Creek near the Kettle River.
Early settlers to the area established the Kettle Valley Fruit Company. Great investments in wooden waterways, called a “flume” to irrigate fruit trees traversed parts of the Valley and extended over our current golf course grounds. All efforts would be in vain, however, as the winters proved to be too cold for the area and the fruit crops failed.
Not to be out-done by nature, the spirited residents of the Kettle Valley would re-purpose some of the flume to build the Kettle Valley Golf Club clubhouse.
